Thrifty Thursdays - MakeUp Brush Holders

Eeeep, I got so excited about my giveaway I nearly forgot about Thrifty Thursdays,

Naughty me!
This one is not as exciting as the last, but equally as helpful
Recently, thanks to Make Up Obsessives aka MUO(welcome everyone who is from there as well ! x )
I discovered in NZ, our Japanese Mart has an awesome selection of
cheap containers great for holding my brushes
However, keeping them in line was a nightmare!
All of my brushes were falling to one side,
everything brush was getting it's bristles up in every other brushes business
Bascially they had no privacy and looked a mess
UNTIL, I discovered none other than the humble coffee bean
Yes, you heard right, not only did pouring beans into the containers
until they were half full smell great,
It also made a great platform for keeping them all in the own personal bubble
I know they're not always the cheapest, or something you have lying around
But if you do, they really do work

Until next time
Stay beautiful
Steph

90's Hearthrobs

Who did YOU crush on in the 90's?
Today at work we were discussing how taste's in things change, so obviously,
Men (or should in this case I say boys) was part of the discussion.
My My, how much our taste in men has changed since the 90's.
I personally didn't think it would be that different
So I decided to go back & find pictures of some of my old hearthrobs.
What a roller-coaster of emotions that was!
So everyone can laugh / reminisce with me , I made a collage of some of
my personal favourites.

Left to Right

Jon Austin from 48May (We all had an 'emo' stage, right?)
Ben Mckenzie aka Ryan from the OC (okay, maybe I still think he's a honey, that hasn't changed)
& everyone's number 1 beautiful soul Jesse McCartney
(I know you know all the words to that song don't even lie!)

So out of curiousity, I would love to know who your number on 90's crush was

Until next time,
Steph,

Favourite Fridays - The men of Harry Potter.

Anyone who knows anything about me
(& probably some people who don't know me)
are aware how obsessed I am with this series.
So this picture for Favourites Friday really needs no more explanation than that.
Even without Gary Oldman & Alan Rickman,
this picture is damn near perfection.
Happy Friday x

Thrift Thursdays - Make Your Own Sugar Scrub

Recently i've started making my own face exfoliaters.
I like to know exactly what i'm putting on my face, &
i'm super lazy & don't read any ingredients labels,
let alone know what they mean.
SO, since we have a lemon tree, i've taken to making this myself.
This is the one I use in the morning (usually).
I've actually found it's even out my skin tone a LOT, & it tastes good to boot.

Ingredients:
1/2 fresh lemon (juiced)
1/2 cup of sugar (caster is best) or brown
1 tbls of olive oil
1 tbls of manuka honey (optional)
1 medium sized tupperware bowl with lid (mine's one of the sistema ones)

- Juice the lemon (sometimes I use more than this, depends on each lemon),
and mix as much as you can with the olive oil.
Whisk in the sugar & wallah! you are done.
I use it everyday on my face. You can use it all over if you want to,
But I use a homemade vanilla mix for that. Recipe coming soon.

Everyday ingredients that save me money & are better for my skin.
Yes please!
Enjoy
(p.s, when I get lazy / after a night out
I just chuck some sugar on a sliced lemon & scrub that on my face, works a treat
but you have to moisturise a lot after as there is not olive oil to moisturise.)
